Silence Time is a meditation timer and commitment tracker for Android.
This privacy policy explains what data the app does and does not handle.
Summary
Silence Time collects no personal data, contains no analytics,
contains no advertising, and does not transmit any information off your
device. Everything you do in the app — sessions, commitments,
streaks, preferences — stays on your phone.
What we do NOT collect
No name, email, phone number, or any account information (the app has no accounts)
No location data
No device identifiers (advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, etc.)
No usage analytics or telemetry
No crash reports sent to us — Google Play may provide aggregated, anonymized crash data to the developer via the Play Console; this is governed by Google's privacy terms
No contacts, photos, calendar, microphone, or camera access
What stays on your device
The app stores the following locally on your device, using Android's
standard sandboxed storage:
Your meditation session history (durations, timestamps)
Your commitments (name, duration, target days, mode)
Your streak progress
Your preferences (selected gong, theme, preset durations, reminder times)
This data is never uploaded anywhere. When you uninstall the app, all
of it is deleted by Android.
Permissions the app requests
Notifications (Android 13+): So daily reminder notifications can fire.
Exact alarms: So the gong fires at the exact end of your session, even when the screen is off.
Boot completed: So scheduled reminders survive a device restart.
Foreground service + wake lock: So in-app gong previews play correctly.
Do Not Disturb access (optional): So the gong can play even when DND is on, if you grant this in system settings.
The app does NOT request the INTERNET permission, meaning
it is technically incapable of sending data anywhere.
Third-party services
Silence Time uses no third-party SDKs that collect data. The audio,
notification, and storage libraries it depends on are open-source
Flutter packages that run entirely on your device.
Children's privacy
Silence Time is suitable for all ages. Because it collects no data
and has no online features, it presents no privacy risk to children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a future app update, the new version will
appear at this URL with an updated "Last updated" date.
